Congratulations Natasha on achieving this wonderful acknowledgment of your fantastic writing. Enjoy your well earned success. Fingers crossed for you - onwards and upwards!
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post.
Congratulations on the long-listing for the Historical Novel Prize! So well deserved and what a list it is! Looks like your Sydney visit had all the elements of a great trip xo
Everyone I know (including myself) who loves The Shellseekers grew up in 1980s Britain. Everyone who doesn't love it didn't and I think there's something in that. I never actually read it till the 00s but the nostalgia of a very selfish period in a very selfish country has always hooked me in.
Ah, that's interesting, although I do know quite a few Australian authors who've raved about it in the past. I wonder if they lived in the UK in the 1980s?! And thank you!
Congratulations on your long listing Natasha! Fingers and toes crossed.
I enjoyed your posts on time travelling novels. I am reading ‘Jane in Love’ by Rachel Givney and it’s about Jane Austen time travelling from 1803 to 2020. It’s fun and interesting and has sent me down a rabbit hole of all things Jane Austen.
Congratulations on your longlisting! How exciting! And what a fabulous prize!
I'm with you on the Shogun series - I loved each episode, and was also blown away by Episode 9. I wish they'd hurry up and get the second season going!
Thanks so much, Maggie! And yes re Shogun - it was such a good example of a narrative where you think you know exactly what's going to happen and then you discover you haven't got a clue and it makes you all the more desperate to know!
Congratulations!
Thank you!

It's such a strong longlist! So many writers I admire - I feel very lucky to have made it this far!

It could just be a total coincidence but it's something I've noticed!
Woohoo! Congratulations on the nom, Natasha! And very well deserved. Will be cheering you on keeping everything crossed for the shortlist in October.
I'm thinking that all things are pointing to you and hubs moving to Sydney! 😘 2 daughters in 2026 living here, and all the wonder on show in Sydney.
What a great idea re: lunch! Good on you for making that happen. And well done, your mate, Lauren also getting nominated.
Big love x
I know - everyone keeps saying we'll have to move to Sydney!
And yes, sharing the longlist with Lauren made it extra special. It's always nice to see your friends' books being celebrated!
Firstly, congratulations! No surprise in my opinion but always nice to be ‘officially’ recognised.
How good was The Ministry of Time! I loved it.
What a useful and enlightening exercise between ChapGPT and Curtis. Hope remains.
We all loved Shogun in this house - looking forward to the next season.
Ministry of Time was fabulous! I loved it too - what a premise!
And I don't know if I can wait another year for Shogun - I want the next season now!
