I just finished There’s Always A Price by Jen Sinclair. Best thing I’ve read all year. I am half way through According to My Science, her next book, and so far I think k it’s another winner.

I love your books and am a bit of a grammar snob 🫢. Would love to win “Confessions of a Grammar Queen” as well as learn about a new author!

Always love your book recs, thank you. I'll have to get back in to The Safekeep, I started it and my patience didn't last until they began to like one another - I had a creeping dread and wasn't in the mood for that sort of book. Very late to the party but I'm currently reading Sally Rooney's Normal People. For some reason a while ago someone told me I wouldn't like it. I am hugely character driven so these people are intriguing and frustrating me and I have about 60 pages to go! I read Graft last week by Maggie Mackellar for about the third time, her prose just soothes me as a farm girl.

I listened to The Safekeeping on audio so maybe that's why it was easier for me to get through the first part. I think it's definitely worth continuing with when you're in the right mood.

I love Hazel’s books and I’ve been eagerly anticipating her new release - a thumbs up from you makes it doubly exciting. I’m about to start a Middlemarch Readalong here on Substack - a classic that has sat on my shelves for far too long.

Oooh, a Middlemarch read along sounds fantastic! I think that's a great choice for a read along as it can get quite slow and heavy at times.

Huge thanks for more📚!I’m currently almost through Lucinda Riley’s The Hidden Girl - fabulous (tho quite dark!) & with links to the Brontes, partly set in my wonderful Yorkshire & the worlds of fashion & art as well as back to WW2, it’s been a great read - I think you’d enjoy it Natasha! Don’t know if you or anyone out there have read any other of Lucinda’s amazing historical fiction? She sadly died just a few years ago & her son has taken on the mantle of completing some of her unfinished / previously unpublished work, which makes it even more compelling. Also loved Evie Woods recently too - as did another contributor. And some hilarious rom com from Leonie Mack❤️

I've tried one Lucinda Riley a few years ago and I put it down after a few chapters. I suspect maybe it was just not the right time for me to read it. She's so popular and the one you're describing sounds exactly like the kind of book that I love. I'll have to try again.

Oh my most favourite read of all time is "Lessons in Chemistry"

Thank you so much Natasha for the opportunity to go in the draw to win a copy of 'Confessions of a Grammar Queen' that could actually be my mantra 🤣 🤣 yes, I'm actually guilty of messaging Sunrise on 7 regularly when I spot a typo or grammatical error on the newsfeed ticker across the bottom of the screen, this book was definitely written for me 🤞

I love the English language and after a recent trip to Europe have been dabbling in a couple of other tongues as well! Confessions of a Grammar Queen sounds like it could be something I'd enjoy! I'm currently reading an Australian author, Adrian Hyland, who has based his novel in outback Northern Territory with an indigenous protagonist. I generally prefer female Aussie authors lately (so many great ones on my follow list!) but my dad told me I had to try Gunshot Road, so I'm doing as I'm told. 😂

Love reading about your recent reads and recommendations, my to read list just keeps growing. I need to retire soon so I have a chance at finding time for all of these amazing books. 😊

Grammar meets "Lessons in Chemistry"! Sounds right up my alley! As a retired English teacher, I despair of English grammar and where it is headed! Definitely adding this to my 'must read' list! I really enjoyed hearing you talk at Castlemaine Library a few weeks back! Thank you for the chance to win!
