Remember when I went to Paris and spent the morning at a 19th century atelier where they make the silk flowers that couturiers use to adorn their dresses? Or when I wiled away a day at La Galerie Dior admiring all the beautiful gowns made by the House of Dior from the 1950s through to the present day? Or when I took a walking tour through the Marais district of Paris and stumbled upon hidden churches, neighbourhoods and art?

I visited those sites to research my novels, including The Paris Seamstress, The Paris Secret and The Three Lives of Alix St Pierre. When I’ve shown the photos from those trips at author talks, readers have rightly oohed and aahed and asked me how and whether they can visit those places too. And the answer now is, yes you can visit every single one of those places and many more incredible locations from my novels—and you can also do it with me there beside you!!
Come to Paris and Lisbon With Me!
I’ve partnered with John Shors Travel to put together the trip of a lifetime. And, to make it even more special, I’m being joined by another author, the brilliant Madeline Martin, whose books include The Keeper of Hidden Books and The Last Bookshop in London, which means we’re also going to Lisbon, where Madeline’s novel, The Librarian Spy is set!
So yes, two New York Times bestselling historical novelists will be sharing with you all their knowledge, passion and enthusiasm about the incredible sites of Paris and Lisbon on this all-inclusive tour as you follow in the footsteps of their books, and experience two of the most beautiful cities in the word! If you’d like to know more, read on!
Where Are We Going?
I can’t wait for this trip. I’ve never been more excited about going to Europe. Because the sites I’ve picked for the Paris leg of the tour are some of the most memorable places I’ve ever visited. And to be able to share them with a group of enthusiasts is like a dream come true. From wandering through the gorgeous covered passageways—Paris’s ancient shopping arcades—where Éliane from The Rivera House lived, to seeing the atelier that I based Estella’s workplace in The Paris Seamstress on, to having afternoon tea at the Ritz, just like Alix St Pierre, we’re doing it all and doing it well!
There’s fashion, art, food, historic neighbourhoods, grand palaces, and lots more to experience.

The full tour itinerary is here. As I mentioned, it’s all-inclusive, so all transfers, meals, accomodation, and excursions are covered in the price of the tour. All you have to do is get yourself to Paris for the start of the tour and get yourself home again—although you might be having so much fun, you mightn’t want to!
The accomodation is high-end, because we all deserve a little bit of luxury and John Shors travel have been arranging tours like these for a while, so they know exactly what they’re doing. Our hotel in Paris is almost right opposite the Louvre, for example, so it’s very convenient to everything in the city.
Come with a friend or come alone—you’ll make plenty of friends on this tour because it will be full of like-minded travellers. And it doesn’t matter if you haven’t read some of my books or Madeline’s books—the places we’re visiting will leave a lasting impression on you, no matter what. It’s all about getting a little off the beaten track and seeing some truly exquisite and fascinating sights—and having the chance to talk about them with myself and Madeline, who’ll be accompanying you through the tour, along with local guides and other experts.
The Details
This is going to be so much fun and I know places will be booked up quickly, so I’m giving all of my newsletter subscribers the details first. The tour runs from April 15-April 24, 2026, so you have lots of time to plan ahead. The wonderful Dilya Turgonova at John Shors travel can answer any questions you have about the tour arrangements, pricing, inclusions, accommodation etc, so please feel free to drop her an email. You’ll find her email address here in the itinerary, which has all the details about the tour.
We’re spending 5 nights in Paris and 4 nights in Lisbon. And we are going to have the best time! Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions of a more general nature and I’ll be very happy to answer them.
In the meantime, I hope I see you in Paris and Lisbon next year!
Wow this sounds absolutely fabulous & what a super idea! Just wondered if there was any option of joining just for the Paris 5 days to make it a little shorter & more affordable?
What a wonderful idea! I've just finished Madeline Martin's The Librarian Spy and loved it! I want to read more of her books (I have read most of yours, Natasha)
